Day 3: Boat Excursion to Hampton Court Palace & TextileConservation Studio
Take a soothing boat excursion up river to , builtby Cardinal Wolsey, inhabited by Henry VIII, and several succeeding Tudor and StuartMonarchs. Hampton Court retains most of its Tudor and Stuart architectural features,as well as extensive period gardens, including one of the finest mazes in England.Costumed guides lead tours through the entire interior of the palace, which is full ofwonderful Stuart portraits of Charles IIs female favorites, period furniture, andgood ghost stories. We will also be seeing The Textile ConservationStudiolocated there. Since the fascinating gardens are open until much later than the last boatreturn, we will return by train after a picnic dinner, weather permitting. Evening free.
