Costume Cutting Portfolio of Tara Maginnis
Tara's Cutting Portfolio
Here are some selections of cutting work have done, mainly on other people's shows. Recently I've only cut shows of my own, so I don't have photos of more recent work.
Me, draping a mock-up of the stretchable dance costumes for Behind The Painted Grin, made out of non-stretchable material, 1985. The PDT Choreographer, Liz Fuentes Rosner, wanted dance unitards made out of cheap non-stretch silk satin to facilitate slides on a Marly dance floor, and asked me to design a pattern that could stretch without tearing. The silk is gathered onto 1/4" elastic at the side, arm and leg/crotch seams.
