What I use to build my web pages:
The annoying flashing sign at the top of the page is an animated GIF. It was made by making two simple GIF'S in Photoshop (although any graphics program will do-even simple ones), then combining the two in a cheap shareware program called Making Animations:GIF Construction Set
(both making the GIF's and combining them can be done in this $20 program).
These GIF's are essentially two boxes with typing in them, using an unusual font. These two GIF'S were layered in GIF Construction Set
to make this:
You can also layer many images to make a sort of slide-show:
Or layer successive motion images to simulate movement:
You just make the separate images you want in any graphics program, save them as GIF's, then get GIF Construction Set
or Microsoft GIF Animator for Windows 95 to layer them into an animated GIF.The only requirement is that the images be exactly the same size. It is mindlessly simple.
